One of Many

You were made to love in a way that is totally unique to you, to understand in a way that is wholly different from anyone else around you. Loving God always felt like just being in a crowd of adorers, easily missed, until God chased me. As far away as I got, it wasn't until I was sought out did I understand that I am wanted.

On Avoiding Mirrors

So the question became: Which way do I go? Backwards to the sweet little girl who sang He's Got the Whole World in His Hands and believed it when people said "I love you"? Or forwards towards the woman who models her attitude after large feline predators and walks without needing anyone at all?

Love Me Louder

I'm often reminded of the John Mayer lyrics, "If you want more love, why don't you say so?" And I wonder why we have such a hard time admitting that we need love.

I'll Hope for You!

If I'm being honest, I never really got over being tall. In the back of my mind, I'm still the teenage girl wishing that the group would just sit down to talk because I swear I wouldn't look like such a freak if we were all sitting.

An Open Letter

When someone you loved and trusted just walks out of your life, really the only question to ask, the only one that matters is this: was it ever worth anything to you at all? Was our entire relationship built on my flawed, clumsy love alone? Was I never worth your love? These questions don't have answers, but they plague all of us who have been left behind.

Mark Your Seasons

As I enjoy the season of sunshine, the season of renewed passion and joy, every once in a while a shadow crosses my path. A terrible fear grips my heart, and whispers, "This won't last."
